Building a home can be very exciting, yet overwhelming and stressful. You hear so many stories about people who build homes and the process is horrific. We knew from the very first time we met Bob and Brian Riggs of Bob Riggs Construction that would not be the case.
Unknowingly, we began our building process at the start of a world pandemic. Despite the uncertainty that wavered ahead, Bob and Brian Riggs never batted an eye. From start to finish, Bob and Brian made us feel like their number one priority. We typically received at least weekly updates by call, text, or email. When a change in plans occurred, there was always communication to follow.
Our building process was essentially "road mapped" out for us with reminders all along the way. We always knew ahead of time what project was next and what decisions were coming. We had plenty of time to pick out finishes. We never had to make a decision on the spot. If an unforeseen change was to occur, there was always time such as days or weeks to deliberate a decision.
The contractors used were professional, respectful, and truly artists of their crafts. We had an idea to incorporate old barn wood and a stain glass door to our home. Bob and Brian welcomed our ideas and discussed with the carpenters how to best incorporate the items. The end result has left us speechless.
We are incredibly grateful for Bob and Brian Riggs, not only for the beautiful custom house we now call home, but also the amazing process of building a home that was a fun, exciting, and quite memorable experience. Having never built a home before, we had no idea what to expect when we decided to build our forever home. We had heard too many horror stories over the years about bad contractors, delays, budget overruns, etc.
We can say without hesitation, that working with Bob and Brian was nothing but an EXCELLENT experience. Their subcontractors were amazing and their craftsmanship and attention to detail were superb. Bob and/or Brian were constantly on site overseeing the progress and lining up the next phase.
Whatever we were told by Bob Riggs Construction came true. Bob said we would be in our house by Memorial Day and we moved in May 27th. Their communication and follow up went above and beyond. Calls and texts were always answered on a timely basis. Never did we feel abandoned. Someone was always working at the job site.
We aren't planning any projects soon, but if we were, we would call Bob and Brian! Bob, Brian, and their families are part of the local community and have earned our respect and friendship. They are the best of the best and most of all can be trusted.

We worked with Bob Riggs Construction for our major remodel of a large commercial building, which we turned into an auto body shop. Bob and Brian did a great job coordinating all aspects of the job, which was especially challenging since the project spanned during the Covid shutdown period. Bob and Brian Riggs built our home in 2018. They were organized and sought our input every step of the way. They pointed us towards subcontractors for cabinets, electrical, plumbing, etc. that were for the most part easy to work with. We recently completed a major kitchen remodel with Bob and Brian. From the initial planning stage to the end result, the entire process exceeded our expectations.

As an Illinois resident moving to Wisconsin, we had difficulty communicating with the Racine County Planning and Zoning Commission. Our neighbors suggested contacting Bob and Brian Riggs with our architect to determine what the county would allow us to build. Without a contract and just a handshake, Bob Riggs Construction agreed to take on our project, was able to work with the county, make some adjustments, and build our "family lake house". Bob met with the architect, was impressed with the energy efficient design, was interested in learning more about the Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) and the Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) that we would be using. Bob initiated a meeting between ourselves, the architect, and the various subcontractors and quickly everyone was on board.
Our lake house was built so that each of our four children and ten grandchildren would have their own space. My favorite room is the bunk room where twelve can sleep comfortably with each bunk equipped with a light and outlet for electronic devices. The kitchen is fabulous, one that my amateur chef son-in-law really appreciates. An elevator, wide halls, and large doors were designed to make the home handicap friendly.
We accomplished the goal of bringing the family together, as this summer the lake house has been enjoyed by many. We are thankful for the wonderful work completed by Bob Riggs Construction. He has a group of dedicated subcontractors and they all worked well together. Bob and his son Brian Riggs bring trust, honesty, and integrity into their business.
